Amazon Seller News: Amazon Releases Inventory Requirements for the 2026 Holiday Season
Amazon recently announced its requirements and fees for the upcoming holiday season, including Cyber Monday, Fall, and Winter sales. In this blog, we walk you through Amazon’s recent announcement, and discuss potential concerns related to increased product exposure.

Amazon Holiday 2026 Requirements
Announced in early July, Amazon has released the list of changes occurring to its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) regulations for the upcoming holiday season. The first change is to fees, with fee costs across the board increasing from October 15th 2026, to January 14th 2027. This is a result of the peak in customer purchasing that increases the number of deliveries Amazon makes drastically.
The next change is to product inventory management. Amazon suggests restocking inventory in September and October in order to give its fulfillment team enough time to sort and process your products. With these deadlines fast approaching, it is important that you make plans on how you will manage inventory for this time.
Further complicating inventory management is the lowered inventory limits that some sellers will see during this season. Amazon does this in order to make sure high volume sellers have appropriate stock to fulfill orders in a timely manner but can hurt smaller independent sellers during the season. Amazon instead recommends making use of warehouse centers to keep your products stocked throughout the latter half of the year.
Amazon Inauthentic Product Concerns
One of the potential hurdles created by increased sales is that of inauthentic product reporting. This is a type of Amazon enforcement issue where Amazon’s automated systems allege that your products are being sold in a different form than what is advertised. Even a single customer report can lead to product suspension because of how seriously Amazon takes allegations that your products are being falsely advertised.
What makes these suspensions even more difficult is that Amazon’s enforcement team is often reluctant to reinstate products accused of being inauthentic. Standard Plan of Action appeals will not always be enough to get your products restored and available for purchase again.
One strategy that FBA sellers can use is called bin checks. These are requests you can make on your seller central that send an Amazon employee to check on the integrity of your inventory. These checks can be key to your appeal and be a major support to your products being reinstated in a timely manner.
