Temporary Suspensions and Etsy Identity Verification

Temporary Etsy Account suspension issues can often be resolved by completing the action in the notice from Etsy. This may require payment of an overdue balance or resolution of an outstanding account issue. If Etsy directs you to reply to its email after correcting the issue, be sure to follow that directive.

Etsy’s permanent-suspension appeal guidance gives sellers six months from the suspension date to appeal. Eligible permanent-suspension appeals should be submitted through the Etsy Appeals Centre, after you ensure that the issues that lead to the suspension have been resolved.

Q. Can I open a new Etsy account after suspension?
A. It depends; the primary consideration is the reason your account was closed. Etsy may take action against related accounts after an Etsy account suspension has been issued. The exception is when a shop is permanently closed due to inactivity. The seller then must create a new account and complete onboarding to begin selling again. Essentially, you can only open a new account for this reason and never to bypass a policy-related Etsy account suspension. 

Q. Etsy Shop Not Showing Up in Search: Is It Suspended?
A. Not necessarily. Etsy’s account-status guidance states that a shop removed from search may still accept purchases. That differs from a full Etsy account suspension or automatic Etsy Vacation Mode application.
