Amazon Seller News: Brand Bundling ASIN Suspensions
For authorized resellers of third party manufactured products, an issue you may run into is known as brand bundling. This can lead to major holdups in approval of your new Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) as you attempt to register new products. In this blog, we walk you through what causes this problem, and how to navigate the process of getting your products on the market.

Appeal Account Amazon – Brand Bundling
Brand bundling is a specific issue on Amazon caused by both a seller and manufacturer having their own protected markets for the same material product being sold. Typically, this occurs with the copyrighted naming of the product, and can lead to confusion as Amazon attempts to approve the new ASIN during the registration process.
When this occurs, you can utilize Amazon’s appeals process to provide further information about your product. This includes things like your authorization letter or other authorization proof from the manufacturer that shows that you have the right to sell your product. Further, proof of your registration of a protected brand mark can support the case for having that brand identity on Amazon.
Recently, the Amazon Sellers Lawyer team was contacted by a client who was facing an issue of brand bundling while attempting to register a new product. Amazon’s team was confused about the owner of the brand as a result of it having two protected names associated with it, and would not approve its ASIN registration.
When we were contacted, we immediately began working with the seller and the product’s manufacturer to secure documentation related to the seller’s authorization for sale of the protected manufacturer mark. We provided this information, along with the registration of the seller’s protected mark, to create an appeal which successfully ungated the product and got it available for sale on Amazon.
Brand Ungating Amazon
In general, we have seen a rise of sellers having trouble with the process of brand ungating on Amazon in 2026. From the tightening of rules around what resellers are allowed to do, and generally stricter compliance on the platform as a whole, more sellers are getting stuck at the door when trying to register new products on their account.
This is where experience matters the most. By bringing in outside help who have extensive knowledge of the process of ungating branded products, the process of registering new ASINs can be greatly expedited. While brand owners continue to have increasing control over who is allowed to sell their products, it is increasingly important that sellers know the full range of tools available at their disposal for exerting their rights.
