BREAKING NEWS: Amazon Requesting Video Conference Calls for Seller Identity Verification
Amazon’s business verification has always haunted new sellers.
Over the last year, it’s also increased when it comes to experienced sellers.
Now, Amazon is actually going to a video verification system.
It hasn’t exploded yet, there hasn’t been a tremendous number of Amazon sellers who have been asked to get on video calls with Amazon through its Chime Program, but it is coming…
So make sure you are prepared if Amazon wants documents from you. If Amazon wants information from you, get it to them right away.
If utilities are not addressed in your lease, draft a rider to your lease, and certainly be prepared for Amazon requesting that you get on a video call with them to verify you are exactly who you say you are.
Also, we suspect that the increase in business verification issues, just like the increase in related account suspensions is coming from Amazon’s revelation of your identifications – of your names and addresses. It just took a while to get there.
So seller identity verification is up – be prepared for video identification via Amazon’s Chime Program.
