Amazon seller EU account suspended while submitting VAT (Value Added Tax) ID
Our never-ending quest to provide Amazon sellers all over the world with the best information for selling on Amazon.
CJ Rosenbaum speaks to a paralegal at the firm about one client’s recent issues with selling in Europe.
In this case, a client of ours was just starting up a seller account on the EU platform. They were trying to make everything inline with Amazon EU’s policies. The seller really set everything up nicely.
However, the seller has issues submitting a Value Added Tax (VAT) ID. If you’re selling in Europe, the tax system is entirely different. VAT is an incremental tax that is eventually remitted to the government. Our client had a certified VAT, but still received a notification from Amazon Seller Performance saying that their ID wasn’t identified or that it was incorrect.
