The FIRST Thing Sellers Should Do When They Receive A Copyright Complaint

If you receive a copyright complaint, what is the very first thing that you should do?

The first thing you should do is take down the image or the verbiage that you suspect is the cause of the copyright complaint.

Why should you do that? You should do it because when you argue that in your plan of action to Amazon, they are recognizing that as a valuable argument. They are reinstating sellers’ listings simply by you removing the potentially infringing photograph or image.

How can you avoid getting suspended if you receive a copyright complaint? Don’t use anybody else’s images. Don’t use anybody else’s verbiage.

Even though that image or that verbiage may not be registered with the United States Copyright Office, whoever created it still owns rights to it.

If you want to learn more about copyright law as it specifically pertains to Amazon sellers, I know exactly where you should go, I know exactly what you should read. It is the Amazon Sellers’ Guide to Copyright Law. By donating to a great charity called the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, you can download a copy of the greatest book in the world when it comes to copyright law, specifically for Amazon sellers.
