Properly Packing Amazon Products For Holiday Season
No matter if you’re an FBA or FBM seller, properly packing Amazon Products is a crucial part of your customer experience. In fact, the packaging is one of the metrics on that customers can base their rating of you on. Enough customer complaints and you could face Amazon suspension.
Packaging your items correctly and safely isn’t just for the customer’s benefit. It’s for yours too. Well-packaged products are less likely to be damaged in transit, which can help protect you from income loss due to preventable issues. Ultimately, it’s in your best interest to pay attention to packaging—even when you’re crunched for time (such as during busy seasons like the holidays).
If you drop ship your items…
It’s a good idea to enforce proper packaging techniques with your drop shippers from the get-go. Train them on how you require your items to be shipped and include your expectations clearly in your contract with them to help minimize confusion. Ask for updates and stay on top of any issues to address them before they grow into something suspension-worthy.
If your items are fulfilled by Amazon…
Make it easy for them to identify your items by labeling your products clearly and thoroughly. If you send in “Stickerless Commingled Inventory”, make sure that each items has a UPC on it. If your “stickered” inventory is not mixed with other sellers’ items, it’ll receive a special SKU to identify it as your unique product. Give Amazon as much information as you can so they don’t have to waste time or energy trying to figure out which products belong to who.
