What AMZ sellers can do to prevent related accounts suspensions before Q4
If you receive an email from Amazon stating that you have related accounts, or more specifically, Amazon’s emails will now often state that it believes you violated their terms of service, Amazon thinks they’ve caught you being involved with more than one account.
How do you avoid this if you are operating more than one account? You have to make sure that everything is absolutely separate and different, and you still may get caught, because we only know a handful of the things Amazon uses to catch you, but make sure nobody is logging on to more than one account from one computer or hotspot, phone, router, etc. Make sure you’re using different VA’s, if you’re using virtual assistants. Different products. Make sure you are careful not to use the same emails or even emails that are similar in nature.
If you are not operating more than one account, then you need to question your partners, and your staff, and even the vendors that you’re using to make sure that they are not operating other accounts. They may not be truthful with you. I hate to say that, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in an arbitration where I was told by the partners that they don’t have any other interest in other Amazon account and Amazon’s lawyer totally busted them. You need to question hard. You need to interrogate your partners, and everyone who works with you on your Amazon account to make sure that they are not running their own accounts someplace else.
If you get caught, or if you get accused of having more than one Amazon account, it is almost always easiest to get the oldest account back first. Then, the other accounts may come back online or maybe they won’t, but we always go after the oldest account, because that’s the one Amazon deems to be your account and the other ones, it deems to be less worthy.
