HI Amazon Sellers! Today I will be giving you information about inauthentic suspensions, the #1 reason for listing and account suspensions on Amazon. You can receive a notification related to the suspension of an ASIN, multiple ASINs, or that your entire account is suspended.
There are 2 types of inauthentic suspensions on Amazon:
1. A customer complains to Amazon after a purchase that they believe the item received is inauthentic.
2. Amazon themselves sends a notification that the items you have listed (even if never sold) “may be inauthentic.” Always check to see if a brand is gated on Amazon before listing.
In either situation, these matters are most easily resolved by submitting your invoices from an authorized supplier to Amazon to prove the authenticity of the items listed or sold. In my experience, it can be difficult to overcome these issues without invoices.
In the eyes of Amazon, an inauthentic item is defined by where it is purchased by the seller. Items purchased from any source other than the authorized manufacturer of the product are considered to be inauthentic – even if they are indeed the “real” brand name product.
