Amazon Seller News: New Requirements For Product Titles on Amazon
In a few weeks, Amazon is changing the requirements that sellers must adhere to for how their products are titled. In this blog we walk you through these changes and discuss how failure to comply with changes like this can lead to product and account suspension on Amazon.

Amazon Policy News – Product Title Requirements
Starting on July 27th, all products on Amazon will need to have titles that are 75 characters or less including spaces. This means that your titles will be limited to roughly 12-18 words depending on the length of those words. Failure to do so will result in Amazon using their AI titling tools to automatically change the names of your products to be less than 75 characters.
For sellers who want longer descriptions on their products, Amazon is recommending that sellers use the “Item Highlights” section to add more key text to the product. This section is still limited in length, however, it is limited to 125 characters rather than 75.
For brand owners on Amazon, Amazon will give you 14 days to approve the AI generated title and Item Highlights section if it is automatically implemented for you. Independent sellers will not have the same timeline if they are selling non-branded products.
Amazon Appeal Submissions – How to Respond to Amazon Enforcement Actions
Because this change is being forcefully implemented onto all sellers, there is little room for sellers to be accidentally noncompliant. Typically, when Amazon implements policy changes, we see a rise of seller suspensions related to sellers failing to keep up with changes. Throughout this year, we have seen several crackdowns on the freedoms that sellers have to list their products. From what products sellers are able to list, to the prices that they are listed at, Amazon has made several changes that continue to make selling on their platform more difficult.
For this reason, it is always important to know the resources you have as a seller when problems do arise. If you are suspended on Amazon, you are required to complete a document called a Plan of Action (POA) which appeals your suspension. These documents include a root cause analysis of your suspension, the immediate corrective actions you have taken, preventative measures implemented to avoid future actions, and supportive documentation for your case.
