We’re going to discuss winning an inauthentic suspension. This is the most common suspension we see on Amazon.
Essentially, an inauthentic suspension occurs when someone is accused of selling inauthentic products. This is different from counterfeit suspensions; a counterfeit suspension occurs when the rights owner files the complaint. Inauthentic is when there is a buyer complaint issue.
There were several buyers who complained that our client was selling what they believed to be inauthentic items. This was a very well respected client – the only mistake that was made was that they did not have invoices for one of the products they were selling; the invoice had been lost. The client did have documentation for everything else they were selling. In order to obtain reinstatement, Amazon was insisting that we provide them with invoices which obviously we did not have for one of the products.
In our plan of action, we were able to show Amazon that our client had a new supplier lined up. Our client actually went above and beyond; they started purchasing products from another supplier and were able to use that information to explain to Amazon that while they did not have the invoice for their past sales for one item, they had a brand new supplier. They were able to show Amazon the new invoices and Amazon responded with a reinstatement.
It’s relatively uncommon to use future inventory and a new supplier as an implemented business measure in an appeal, but this was a result of the combined creative thinking between our staff and our client.
We decided to explain to Amazon that they were going to discontinue their relationship with their current supplier and form a new relationship with a new distributor. Our client was able to provide Amazon with invoices and everything checked out. Our client was absolutely ecstatic that we got them back up and running!
