Sellers Can Now Combat Amazon IP Violations With New System
Amazon recently announced a new way for sellers to resolve Intellectual Property complaints (IP complaints). Instead of having to wait to respond to a complaint after facing suspension, you can email [email protected] to appeal your case directly.
What Used To Happen When Sellers Faced Amazon IP Violations?
It used to be that when someone would submit a report of Amazon IP violations against you, Amazon would almost instantly either suspend your account or remove your product listing until the complaint was resolved. That put the responsibility for account reinstatement after Amazon suspension directly on the seller’s shoulders, which often proved difficult and took too long for many small sellers whose assets were frozen during this time.
What’s Going To Happen Now & What Does It Mean?
Since this change is so new, nobody is 100% sure of what it means, but we’re hopeful that it means sellers will be able to address Amazon IP violations quickly without always having to fight through suspension at the same time.
This would be excellent news for sellers, especially those with bogus claims against them. It’s common knowledge that many IP complaints are not valid, but Amazon has played it safe to the detriment of legitimate sellers. Now, sellers who are not guilty of Amazon IP violations have a better shot at reinstatement or not being suspended at all, thanks to a more direct line of communication with this new email address that will address both the complaining seller and Amazon at the same time.
Stay tuned for more news about this development as more information becomes available.
