How to Sell Things on Amazon
How to sell things on Amazon and maximize your business success – what do you need to know? There are a few variables and questions you should answer before setting any expectations for your success as an Amazon Seller:
- What do you intend on selling?
- Where do you plan on obtaining your inventory from?
- What does the competitive analysis look like for the market you intend on selling in?
- Will you be selling FBA or MF?
- How much capital are you working with?
- Is this a venture that you will be devoting all of your time to, or is this for supplemental income?
What can you realistically expect as a new Amazon Seller?
A drastic learning curve. Amazon has a plethora of rules and regulations. I highly recommend you get acquainted with them before listing your first item. Many sellers choose not to, and they often find themselves suspended just when their business begins to flourish.
Fierce Competition. When someone decides to start an Amazon business, it’s important to be conscious of the fact that this is far from an original idea. In fact, an Amazon business has become the”go-to” marketplace for almost every entrepreneur who has decided to penetrate the e-commerce market.
There is competition in every category of selling. When I say competition, do not make the mistake of believing I am merely referring to multiple merchants. No, what I mean is large organizations that utilize remarkable tactics and software to obtain an unfair advantage over the average seller. Advanced re-pricers with the ability to alter thousands of listings prices every few minutes, feedback request software solutions, keyword research software to optimize their listings, and years of experience are only a few of the elements you can expect to clash with.
Merchant Fulfilled is dead. Three letters for you – FBA.

Give Refunds. Always – if a customer requests a refund, just give it to them. You are better off handling the issue immediately to make sure the customer is happy, or you run the risk of complaints, violations, and suspension of your account.
Always Respond to Messages. Your attention to customer messages is integrated into your overall seller performance metrics. Be sure to respond within 24 hours to keep your account in good standing.
Accurate Product Descriptions. Make sure there is absolutely nothing inaccurate about your product/item descriptions. This opens you up to a plethora of issues when buyers receive an item that was not described correctly.
