What are the Benefits of Having Insurance as an Amazon Seller Getting Sued?

Over the years some of my greatest friends started out as clients, Amazon sellers, people in companies that help Amazon sellers…. and one of my clients, one of my friends in North Carolina, was sued and he had insurance. He followed our advice and he had insurance. So what happens next?

If you get sued and you have insurance, you call your broker, you call your insurance company and say, “Hey, I’ve been sued regarding this product that I sold,” and that insurance company will assign a lawyer to you.

In this particular case, the insurance company agreed to use us to defend the seller, and we settled the case quickly, we settled the case for a very low amount, and when all was said and done, our client was 100% protected.

All the costs, including our fees, are paid for by the insurance company.

That’s the difference if you have insurance.

If you have insurance, the insurance company pays the lawyer, the insurance company pays the settlement.

If you don’t have insurance, then you are the one writing the check to defend yourself.
