Amazon Business Verification

Two years ago Amazon expanded its business verification process to include all Amazon sellers instead of just new accounts, a change in the terms of service which all sellers must adhere to. When amazon requests verification information from you, they are looking for documentation with matching information. These verification requests are now made to experienced and long-term sellers who have been listing and selling products on the app already.

How to handle verification

There is not a lot that that outside counsel can do to make this process easier or faster for you, so it is in your best interest to understand what Amazon wants when they request verification of your business and how you should respond.

Amazon selects businesses for verification to protect the platform from being utilized for inappropriate reasons or in unsanctioned ways.  When you receive a request for verification of your business, you should find all of the documents you need to submit and print physical copier to analyze. The most important factor that will be weighed is whether or not the information you provide matches including; addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc. An inconsistency as  simple as using an abbreviation on one document and the full word on another may cause a delay in paperwork or rejection. It is crucial that you are diligent and ensure that all of your paperwork matches before it is sent in to Amazon for the most successful results.
