Happy New Year’s Eve, Amazon sellers. In today’s video, I’m going to be talking about how we won a counterfeit complaint when the complainant was totally right.

Okay, Amazon sellers. We deal with hundreds, if not thousands, of counterfeit complaints that are asserted against you, that are almost always totally baseless. Well, sometimes they’re actually true. Sometimes you are selling counterfeit products. Sometimes you know they’re counterfeit, sometimes you don’t. But the complaint will, from time to time, have merit and you are not dead in the water.

On this glorious New Year’s Eve, I’m going to talk to you about how we won a counterfeit complaint when the complainant was unfortunately right.

Our insanely awesome paralegal, Vincent, handled the case. We could not win with an argument that products were not counterfeit because they were. What we advised our seller to do was to remove all of its inventory for that particular branded product. Just remove it. Put in the removal order. Get rid of it. Destroy it. Then fall on the sword to Amazon and explain how that seller ended up with counterfeit products, despite its efforts to prevent that from occurring.

I would never recommend you fall on the sword or admit wrongdoing unless you’re dead in the water and Amazon knows it. But in this particular case, we did our evaluation. We tried our best. There was no place else to go. Congratulations, Vincent, for winning this huge case for an Amazon seller, who right now is back online selling and starting the new year right, with even better quality controls to make sure that they never sell counterfeit products again.
